Inspiring innovation: i3 Program winners visit Bankwest

POSTED December 3 2024 , News, Senior School

On 2 December, our winning i3 Program team – Scarlett, Mikayla, Angelina, and Grace – had the incredible opportunity to visit Bankwest’s corporate office in the heart of the city. It was a day filled with inspiration, learning and meaningful engagement, offering us invaluable insights into the world of business and innovation.

The day began with a guided tour of the Bankwest office. Walking through the vibrant, collaborative spaces, we were inspired by the company’s culture of innovation and inclusivity. Observing how a leading corporate entity operates daily set the tone for what proved to be an enriching experience.

A highlight of the day was the luncheon that followed. While enjoying a delicious meal, we engaged in meaningful conversations with Bankwest representatives. These interactions provided a deeper understanding of their work and allowed us to exchange ideas and experiences in a relaxed, welcoming setting.

We were especially fortunate to hear from Kate Kirwin, a prominent advocate for women in STEM and innovation. Learning about her journey to establish ‘She Codes Australia’ offered us fresh perspectives and practical advice to apply in our own endeavors.

The day culminated in the opportunity to present our idea to Bankwest’s corporate members. Standing before a group of experienced professionals, we confidently pitched our app, Walk Safe, with enthusiasm and pride.

Our visit to Bankwest was more than just a corporate tour—it was an opportunity to connect, learn, and grow as young innovators. We are immensely grateful for the chance to share our vision and receive valuable mentorship from Bankwest’s accomplished team.

A heartfelt thank you to Bankwest for hosting us and investing in the next generation of changemakers!
