St Mary’s has a proud sporting tradition and boasts exceptional staff and facilities. Our girls enjoy a well-rounded approach to physical education where they are provided opportunities to reach their sporting potential in competitive and non-competitive settings.
Interschool sport
St Mary’s is a member of the Independent Girls Schools Sports Association (IGSSA) interschool sport competition. Students are selected on merit at the start of each season from interhouse carnival results and/or trials.

Interhouse sport
Fun, enthusiastic participation and team spirit are the hallmarks of our interhouse sporting events. All girls participate in our interhouse swimming and athletics carnivals. They are also encouraged to compete in our interhouse diving, cross country and gymnastics events.
All students in Years 7 to 10 participate in interhouse netball, hockey, soccer, basketball, volleyball, softball and tennis.
St Mary’s Netball Club and recreational groups
St Mary’s also coordinates the St Mary’s Netball Club and a number of before and after school recreational sporting groups, including Run Club, Badminton Club and our popular group fitness gym circuits.
