2023 i3 Program Launched

POSTED February 28 2023 , News

Today, more than 180 Year 10 students embarked on their i3 Program journey, where they will be tasked with creating a digital solution to solve one of the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals with the help of industry and student mentors.

This year, 40 teams will each work with two mentors, who are a combination of industry representatives and returning Year 11 students mentors.  Teams worked through various sessions today, including:

Getting to Know Your Team

Social Contract

Ideation, Market Research & Problem/Solution Statement

Elevator Pitch

Contact List & User Survey

One of the highlights of the day was the Social Contract session, where students explored the importance of establishing ground rules and expectations when working in a team. They learned about the value of active listening, collaboration, and compromise to ensure everyone’s voices are heard and respected.

This session helped our students to understand the importance of setting clear goals and communication methods while working together to achieve a common objective. By establishing a social contract, they can ensure that all team members are accountable and committed to achieving their project’s goals.

We are so proud of our students for their hard work and dedication during the i3 Launch Day. They demonstrated creativity, innovation, and critical thinking skills while developing solutions to real-world problems. Keep up the great work, girls!

We are grateful for the continued support from our industry partner, Bankwest, as well as our mentors from Anglicare, Avanade, Bankwest, BHP, Deloitte, Microsoft, O2 Marine, Rio Tinto, Schlumberger, Until It’s Not, University of WA, Wood plc and Woodside.
