Butterfly Day brings schools together
POSTED June 26 2023 , News
On 22 June, our Year 7 students participated in an exciting event called Butterfly Day.
This special day marked the culmination of the girls’ collaborative projects with our brother school, Hale. The project, aptly named ‘The Butterfly Effect’, aimed to create a tangible and meaningful connection between our students and the local community. Through small acts of kindness, the goal was to inspire our students to consider ways in which they could positively impact the lives of others.
Butterfly Day served as a reminder that even the simplest gestures can have a ripple effect, initiating positive change and fostering a sense of empathy and social responsibility among our students. By engaging in this community service activity, we hope that the girls consider making a lifelong commitment to enacting change in the world around them.
Activities included making food, preparing goodie bags and potting plants, with donations going to a variety of charities including Moline House, Operation Sunshine, the Dog Refuge, Manna and Starlight Children’s Foundation.
