Mills receives coveted coaching accolade

St Mary’s Anglican Girls’ School extends its heartfelt congratulations to North Coast Swim Club head coach Ian Mills, who was recently honoured with the prestigious 2023 SWIM Ring. This recognition celebrates Ian’s role as the Team Coach for the Australian Swim Team at the 2023 World Open Water Swimming Championships in Fukuoka.

The SWIM Ring is a distinguished accolade, awarded only to those who have coached at major international events such as the Olympic Games, Paralympic Games, Commonwealth Games, Pan Pac Championships, FINA World Championships (long-course), FINA World Short Course Championships, or Open Water World Championships.

Ian is the 151st person in Australian history to receive this honour, and notably, he is only the sixth coach from Western Australia to join this esteemed group.

His SWIM Ring (#151) was presented to him by SWIM Life Member Bernie Mulroy (SWIM Ring #26).

We are incredibly proud of Ian’s achievement and celebrate his dedication to the advancement of Australian swimming.

The North Coast Swim Club is a dynamic, boutique swim club for girls and boys to develop their swimming abilities. Connecting like-minded people, the club offers tailored squad sessions for girls and boys who are just beginning their swimming journey through to elite athletes competing on the national stage. The Club operates out of the Sir Thomas Wardle Swimming Pool Complex at St Mary’s Anglican Girls’ School, which offers first-class facilities including a 50-metre heated pool and a well-equipped gymnasium.
