Outdoor Education students walk among giants

POSTED November 18 2022 , News

Our Year 10 Outdoor Education students recently participated in a five-day expedition where they explored the Walpole region.

Activities included an eco-wildlife cruise on the river, a two-day hike on the Bibbulmun Track, wandering through the giant tingle trees on the Tree Top Walk, and exploring the Ancient Empire of the Tingle Forest.

The girls’ camping skills were put to the test as they set up their own tent village and cooked meals on trangias. Ahead of the camp, all students completed a First Aid course, learned how to prepare for an expedition, figured out how to start fires without matches, and updated their navigation skills.

This camp also met the requirements for our students who are attempting to earn their Bronze, Silver or Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award.

Their positive attitudes and care for others helped make this camp so successful.
