St Mary’s stars at Philosothon meet

Congratulations to our students who helped St Mary’s place 8th overall at the 2022 Philosothon competition on 28 September.
The Philosothon is an annual competition held at the University of Western Australia by the Association for Philosophy in Schools.
One representative from each year group participates in four ‘communities of inquiry’, where they engage in discussions on philosophical topics, such as “Is a hole something, or nothing at all?” and “Should we welcome our cyborg future?”.
More than 100 students representing 21 schools from across Perth participated in this year’s event.
We are so proud of our team’s efforts and thrilled to announce that Grace was awarded first place in Year 9 and Lizzy first place in Year 10.
St Mary’s Philosothon team meet regularly throughout the year as part of the School’s Philosophy Club.
