POSTED February 28 2022 , News

Well done to all the inspirational members of our St Mary’s community who participated in Saturday’s challenging Rottnest Channel Swim.

Year 11 student Freya steered her team to an incredible 18th place overall finish with a pacey 5:23:38.50 swim, while Year 12s Saskia, Kate, Caitlin and Grace joined forced to conquer the channel in 5:27:07.72 to earn a 21st overall placing.

They were closely followed by a team headlined by Year 10 girls Lucy and Olivia, who finished the swim in 5:45:20.08, and another four-person outfit led by Year 11 student Madeleine (5:59:32.74).

Year 10s Emily G and Emily T helped their team complete the 19.7km swim in 6:18:12.30, and Vienna (Year 11) got her team onto Rottnest’s shores in 6:57:11.84.

Junior School teacher, Heidi Butterworth, also starred in the swim, helping her team claim second place in their category.

Congratulations must also go to members of our North Coast Swim Club who recorded some amazing results. Chloe Truscott won the female solo race for the second year running, while Kyle Lee and Reilly Kennedy placed first and second respectively in the men’s solo swim.

Jack Wilson placed fourth in the male solo and Rosie Wilson took out eighth place in the female solo.
