Year 10s embrace Boora Koort experience
POSTED September 2 2024 , News
Last week, our Year 10 students embarked on the transformative Boora Koort Outdoor Learning Program at St Mary’s at Metricup. This innovative program transcends traditional outdoor education by offering a holistic approach to personal development, encouraging students to step into the unknown, embrace challenges, and build resilience.
Throughout the week, students engaged in a journey of self-discovery, exploring their intrinsic values and gaining a deeper understanding of themselves and their place in the world. The experience was not just about adventure; it was an opportunity for personal growth and reflection.
The program included community service activities such as trail building and visits to Busselton and Margaret River Baptist Care and Vinnies, fostering a strong sense of connection and involvement within the community.
In addition to these enriching experiences, the students participated in yoga and exercise sessions, allowing them to nurture their bodies and minds. Open time for relaxation and bonding further strengthened friendships, creating lasting memories that will resonate long after their time at Metricup.
Boora Koort is not just an outdoor program; it’s a unique opportunity for our students to develop vital life skills, foster community connections, and grow as individuals in a supportive and inspiring environment.
