At the end of Term 3, our Year 7 students embarked on an exciting educational tour of Canberra and Sydney, bringing their classroom studies to life with visits to some of Australia’s most important cultural and historical sites. This immersive experience perfectly complemented their curriculum, offering real-world insights into topics they’ve explored throughout the year.
In Canberra, students toured Parliament House and delved into Australia’s political legacy at the Museum of Australian Democracy, gaining a unique perspective on our nation’s governance. They were also captivated by the vibrant blooms of the Floriade Flower Show, inspired by the wonders of science and technology at Questacon, and moved by the history preserved at the Australian War Memorial. The Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) provided an inside look into elite athletic training, further broadening their horizons.
The Sydney leg of the tour brought even more unforgettable experiences, including a tour of the iconic Sydney Opera House and the thrill of attending a live performance of Sister Act, which added a lively dose of music and theatre to their journey.
This enriching trip allowed students to connect deeply with their studies, enhancing their understanding of Australia’s history, culture and achievements through hands-on learning and exploration.
